|The photographic series of Nirvana / Paradise : Reality / Illusion , 2007, explores the interchange between Buddhist and Christian perceptions through my performance of myself as a still-life object on the roofs of houses.
As a child, I used to climb and sit on the roof of my home in the countryside. I liked to look around from my self to my family, home, street, car, garden, canal, ricefield, hill, clouds, birds and butterflies. I would breathe slowly as in meditation and wished the air would set me free from this world.
I try to observe the world in a Buddhist way. The world of materialism and emptiness, happiness and sadness, simplicity and complication, peace and disorder. The world that would reveal to me both its reality and illusion. Let me see the paradise and the hell that exist in my mind.
